Lake Country Youth Baseball and Softball

LCYBS is excited to announce that we are hosting another umpire clinic this year at Lake Country School/Big Gym on May 11th from 11:30am-1:30pm. This awesome clinic will help prepare future and current umpires for the upcoming 2024 LCYBS baseball season. It's a great way for those who love the game to be a part of the Lake Country Baseball Community and make additional income.

Please note if you have umpired for LCYBS for the past two years you are automatically added to the arbiter system and not mandatory for you to attend this clinic.

Topics to be covered:

• Explaining in detail the Arbiter process/ website and how to select games to umpire.
• Going over LCYBS payments (cash post game), opportunity, expectations, etc.
• Umpire mechanics.
• Pre-game Conference.
• Common Rules / Situations (Umpire discretion calls).
• Closing discussion/ Points.

Each participant will also receive an LCYBS Umpire Polo shirt.

LCYBS Umpire Rates

3/4 grades and U10 games $40/game

5/6 grades and U12 games: $50/game

7/8 grades and U14 and U16 games: $50/game

Who can umpire:

Those who wish to umpire in 8th grade and above are welcome. Please note that 8th graders will only be allowed to umpire Majors games in the field, not behind the plate. They will be allowed to umpire AAA games if needed. LCYBS Schedules will be released late April once field assignments are set.
